The Pumpkin Patch

We had a great family trip to the Pumpkin Patch. It was a gorgeous fall afternoon and we all had a wonderful time.

A lot of family joined us for the occasion. Nick was the only fellow of the bunch...he had his sister, mom, grandma, aunt, wife, and daughter with him. :)

We took a hayride down to the pumpkin patch.

We thought Lyla was big enough to stand up all alone...
...but she took a nose dive and got all muddy, no tears though.
She got to play with big pumpkins...

and medium pumpkins...

and small pumpkins...
...and little baby pumpkins.
After pumpkin time, we got treats...
and checked out the other fun stuff at the farm.

By the end of the afternoon Lyla was pretty worn out and took a little snooze on her Auntie.

We had a terrific time and look forward to making this an anual family event.

Lyla Helps with the Laundry

New Sound

Lyla has recently discovered consonants. She spent the last week saying buh-buh-buh. Then tonight after dinner she switched to this one...won't daddy be proud!

6th Month Doctor Appointment

So, another healthy visit to the doctor. Lyla weighs 19 lbs 9 oz.

Here she is calmly waiting for her shots.

She was a trooper and only got upset for a second. Check out the band-aids from her 4 shots!

Visiting Dad and Looking for Salmon

Today Mom and Lyla went to visit Dad in his classroom.

The girls played around at a lab station while Dad finished up.

Then we all went to look for Salmon. It is spawning season and we hoped to see lots of fish in the rivers.

We brought waders to get out in the streams for a close-up look.

It was a great family day.

Our Little Girl can Scoot!

Our baby girl is mobile! What a fun milestone!

Here she is a bit frustrated about having to get around. I was so excited that I kept moving the brush away to see her scoot again. In this video she is letting us know she's mad about it.

This one was later that morning. Doesn't she look like a grown up girl in her blue jeans?!!!

Playing with her Spoon

Since we are trying out a lot of new foods, we have plenty of highchair pics these days. This was after an apple meal. She is A LOT stickier than she appears in the photos. :)

Peas Please...or not.

She was telling me "no" but I kept trying. I want her to enjoy learning about taste, so I'll be better at following her cues in the future. :) We've given her peas a few times since and she is warming up to them.

Out to Lunch with Laura

Aunt Laura was in town for the weekend. All us girls went out to lunch. It was such a warm October day that we sat out on the patio.

It was pretty sunny, so Laura lent her scarf as a hat. Here is gypsy Lyla:

Happy Baby in her Bouncie

Potatoes?...maybe not yet.

Lyla has been eating rice cereal for lunch and dinner for about a week. Today we tried to introduce potatoes and this was her response:

So, I mixed up some rice cereal for lunch instead. She does much better this this familiar food:

ps. I found this bib in a drawer here at Mom's house. I'm pretty sure I used it as a baby too. Mom, do you remember?

Check out this fun combo. The hat is stretchy enough that it should fit through the winter. Thanks MaryAnn for such a fun gift!

New Carrier

Lyla peeking through the straps of her new carrier.
A friend gave us this Ergo...it's great for our growing baby. It has a waist harness that keeps the weight off your back. Thank you, Heather!

Vacuuming with Mom

Here's Lyla helping Mom clean up the bedroom. She doesn't sleep in her cradle anymore, but it worked great as a place to hang out while I worked. I had a bunch of stuff up on the bed so I could vacuum the floors. Lyla thought the vacuum was fun. Here's a video of here reaction:
